I have heard from numerous people that code enforcement has gotten out-of-hand in Denton. I understand and agree with making Denton a better place and feel that things that are a danger or an eye-sore should be addressed, but I have heard stories of people being cited for minor and/or temporary things, such as having one piece of plywood leaning on their house, having 4 inches of a bumper hanging over grass in their own driveway, having six tufts of Johnson grass behind a telephone pole when the rest of the yard was mowed, etc. Code enforcement should focus on things of more importance, things that really improve Denton, and not just trying to bring in revenue from fines.
